Community-driven, evidence-based, and designed to outlast our involvement. Every program begins with listening.
Before launching any program, we spend time in communities โ talking to parents, teachers, local leaders, and children. Every initiative is grounded in real needs, not assumptions.
We build and renovate schools where existing facilities are inadequate or nonexistent.
We invest heavily in teacher training so educators have the skills and resources they need.
We build local capacity to maintain programs over time. Sustainability, not dependency.
We measure outcomes and track progress honestly. If something isn't working, we change.
Haiti faces one of the most severe education crises in the Western Hemisphere. According to UNESCO, approximately 500,000 children are not enrolled in any school, and many who do attend study in facilities without roofs, desks, or clean water. The 2010 earthquake destroyed or damaged more than 4,000 schools โ much of this infrastructure has never been rebuilt.
Our school construction program goes beyond simply putting up walls. We create comprehensive learning environments with furnished classrooms, basic sanitation, educational materials, and outdoor learning spaces โ every school designed in close collaboration with the local community.
We map existing facilities, identify areas with greatest unmet need, and assess site requirements with local authorities.
We work with local leaders to select sites and involve community members throughout the planning process.
Using local labor and specialized expertise, we build resilient facilities fully equipped with furniture and materials.
We establish community management structures, train staff, and provide continued monitoring and support.

teachers trained across multiple communities
In Haiti, only a small fraction of teachers have received formal pedagogical training. Many educators enter classrooms with good intentions but without the skills to deliver effective instruction. The consequences are felt directly by students.
Serply's Teacher Professional Development program is not a one-time workshop โ it is a structured pathway. We begin with intensive training, then provide ongoing mentorship and peer support. This follow-up component is critical: it ensures that skills are applied and teachers have someone to turn to when they encounter challenges.
48 teachers trained. Participants report increased confidence, better classroom management, and greater student engagement.
